![]() | We used to be cwa where I work but the union got voted out. It's a mixed bag don't know for sure if it was a good thing o not most days. They treated us rather poorly before the union was gone but it seems a little more reactionary now. It will be interesting to see how things shakeout with AT&T. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Maybe they need to look at recent dealings made by the unions Thompson consumer Otis Elevator GE That is just the ones in Bloomington. And why would they take the keys if they still have a contract that is not expired? Scare tactics is all it is. |

edit- if they send anymore jobs to foreigners AT&T is even more screwed because people cancel service all the time because of having to deal with them. if they move more jobs out there would be a mass exodus from AT&T to other carriers, and then what would the I-phone fanboys do? so please think of the fanboys

...the strike authorization vote is not a surprise since it is a typical part of the collective bargaining process.

What did your union bargain with if they were not authorized by the member ship to call a strike? "Pretty Please" I've been a union member for over 35 years, still am, and it's always marked the start of serious negotiations to ask the membership for authorization to stike if the bargaining committee deems it neccessary. I'd hate to try to negotiate a contract when you don't even have the demonstrated support of the members with their permision to call a strike. You'd have nothing to negotiate with. Every contract is a little different and every local has it's own style though.
