If I had it to do over again, the largest gear would go on the axle and the smallest gear would go on the motor, right? What if the wheels wouldn't allow enough clearance to mount the largest gear on the axle?

![]() ![]() ![]() | If you would like to learn more on gear ratios it can be found here: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/gears2.htm You can think of it like this, the wheels are starting at 0 rpm, while you want the motor spinning faster. The motor may be able to turn the wheels with a 1:1 ratio if it has enough torque but it is not the most efficient. |
