2.87 on the westside for basic grade at Speedway....

I am livid, and would love to be able to 'share my feelings' with those who are gouging in such bad economic times!!!

pathetic... sub-human companies need to be checked!!

2.99 for 87 here...

Bike takes 87, car takes 92.

Thankfully the trustworthy bike gets 40mpg...I think I paid $5.86 for a full tank today. I'm not going places/refusing to go places in the car while gas is this high.

I thought it might have a little something to do with our fine upstanding president telling the Saudi's that we're doing our part to reduce our dependence on foreign oil. Wasn't that a cue for them to raise their price so they can make profit now that they won't be able to get later?

That is shell making more money for the first quarter than it ever has in its history.While the rest of the world economy is in the crapper the oil companies are all set to make record profits for the first half of 2009.

I follow a guy on the Indygasprices.com forums that has "inside" information about the Indy area gas prices (which are a pretty good relation to the rest of the state..). He uses market price + taxes, etc to predict what the prices should be near. He also can show the approximate profit/losses the stations are making. He is 99% of the time SPOT ON when it comes to predicting gas spikes, and warns the day before it happens. Anyway, if anyone is interested. Here is the thread he updates during the weekdays.

High prices at gas stations are almost never because of "gouging." There are a TON of forces at work.
