| Master ![]() | Actually, the "illegal" fireworks are much more fun. Can one carry a mortar-style firework for personal protection? If so, the noise I hear coming from the next neighborhood over I would think the mortars would be pretty powerful 'ammo'.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Right now, even in the rain, my neighborhood sounds like it's a Saturday night on the outskirts of Baghdad. Even the preacher next door is putting on quite a show. I'm pretty sure I could send as many rounds of 240 grain patriotism into the ground as I wanted. I doubt anyone would notice. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() | Actually, I tried this with my Mosin Nagant. It didn't go too well. I attached the bayonet and stuck it in the ground. I rigged a string to pull the trigger and loaded one surplus round. When I pulled the string, several things happened. First, the muzzle blast dried out the grass and set it on fire! Second, the recoil launched the rifle into the air and it "lightly" bumped the sheriff's helicopter that was passing overhead! (They were upset!) Third, the gun came back down bayonet first and skewered my neighbors' pet pot bellied pig. (They were upset, too!) Luckily, I was able to convince my neighbors that their pig loved them so much he would be happy to be pork chops and bacon for them. (It took quite a few beers.) It also helped that the helicopter pilot is a bacon fanatic. (More beers.) When the fire department showed up to put out the grass fire, they got the rest of my beer and nobody got fined for "unsafe practices." One boom, LOTS of upset people, a burn spot in the yard, and I'm all out of beer. I hope we'll all laugh about this someday... Doug |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You guys should really look into getting a salute cannon. I've got a couple, they are extremely loud and easy to fire. The smallest one I have has maybe a 3 inch barrel and I got it online for about $20. When it goes off it sounds like an 1/8 stick of dynamite and you can feel the percussion punch you in the chest. ![]() |
