| Check your 6 ![]() | What have you done to help a stranger lately? One of my new year's resolutions for this year was to be a better person by helping others out where I can. Checked my calendar last week and noticed that it was October and I have not really done to much about this resolution. So I decided what the heck, better late than never; right? In the last week I was able to help two people out, and it really did feel good. person 1) older guy with a flat on his 80-something Cadillac. Stopped, used my bottle jack since his scissor jack was rusted pretty bad. had the tire changed in about 15 minutes and we were both on our way. person 2) On my way to grab a pizza last night I noticed a car on the side of the road with its flashers on and no driver in it. On the way back I saw a younger guy (mid-20's I would guess) carrying a gas can about half a mile from where the car was. I stopped and offered him a ride back to his car. He was extremely thankful and offered to pay me for the ride. I refused the cash and we were both on our way. I realize that this kind of behaviour can be dangerous, but I like to think that there is still some decency in the world. So let's hear your stories, what have you done recently to help a stranger? ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I helped an elderly lady today at the store. She had dropped her change purse and there were coins everywhere. No one stopped to help and she was trying to get down there and pick it all up herself. Callie and I went over there, helped her stand up and told her we would get it. Callie enjoyed it throughly (she loves change) and the lady really got a kick out of Callie. I take my neighbors (elderly couple) their mail everyday, and have for the last year. They are good people but can't get around much anymore. I also clear the snow off their sidwalks in the winter. I enjoy helping people. It's very rewarding!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I saw an elderly women in the parking lot at work, looking for her car in the rain, she seemed upset. I offered to drive her around to help her look, when we found it she said she was just retrieving some paperwork and could I give her a ride back to the building she came out of, so I did. I was a little surprised she got in the car in the first place but I guess I don't look to creepy.

![]() | I helped a man get his ZTR lawn mower out of the ditch last weekend. My buddy and I were on state road 9 headed north and he was in the ditch with the back wheels off the ground. I stoped and backed up to him got out and we picked up and pushed it out for him. I guess I am getting older because I remeber a day I would have just laughed and not stopped I guess afraid my friend make fun of me but now I dont really care what people think. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | I pulled over Thrurs. night to assist a woman with a flat. By the time I walked to her car, a guy (that looked like her teenage son) had already brought a tire and jack and was getting ready to change it. She declined my help... oh well, maybe next time. |
