a friend went on a rant earlier...to paraphrase:

"...so what is it, like, 10% of criminals are suicidal? they could care less who or if anyone is armed, they're doin their thing til it's over. the other 90% are p*****s. they don't want confrontation. you have a p***y a** kid in Seattle (where we have family) and he probably knows he's gonna get some time in before it's over. because no one else is armed. what if there was one f'n armed security guard, or teacher, or lunch lady, or even a responsible 18yr old student who could legally carry? huh? what would the odds have been then?! what the hell is happening?! we need a freaking armed citizenry so that [see: 90%] of the criminals would be too f'n scared to try to mess with anybody! 'cause anyone could be armed at any freakin time! I mean...why don't more people open carry? that says 'hey I mean business here, so don't even think about it'. I'm getting sick and tired of feeling like evil is getting the upper hand on RIGHTEOUSNESS...."

    My response...to paraphrase:

"...so are you ready to go shooting with me? learn to properly use/maintain/shoot/carry a firearm?..."

His reply to end the conversation:

    "hell yes brother"

Unfortunately, today, there was an armed School Resource officer! Didn't do much good! When seconds count, Police are minutes away!

Which proves the fact that more guns ain't the solution, and a gun-free zone is only valid if there is a system in place to enforce it.

What systems (in general, everyday life) have proven their validity in enforcing GFZs?

Well, all I can say is that one of these terrorist types had better not give me a chance to see them coming at me with an axe, like that clown in New York. If so, he had better close the distance at around 1,200 fps. If he can't, he will be outran by a 115 grain JHP bullet. :twocents:

You know... There is a system in place here as well to enforce rules. One of the rules you agreed to when you joined was not to engage in trolling behavior.

For 172 posts, we've been lenient. You're just back from a ban and this is your first post?

I'm done with you. Good bye.

What if you see them coming at someone else?
