I wonder how effective that would actually be. When you look at Africa and the Middle East most of their professionals are terrible with guns. Like absolutely insanely terrible from everything from trigger discipline to basic marksmanship. It works in the US because we have a gun culture. People grow up with guns, learn the basics, routinely shoot, and enjoy it for its own sake. I'd say the vast majority of INGOers are better shots and WAY safer than soldiers from those regions.

When I was contracting in the early 2000's, Sudan paid US range instructors right at $90k a year plus expenses. You know what that says? "We don't have anyone who knows how to shoot worth a darn, so we need to hire outsiders to teach us."

Europe has been no guns for too long to have a gun culture pop up overnight. Teaching people from certain cultures gun safety is like beating your head against an anvil, only more dangerous. Anyone who's tried to teach Arabs to shoot will back me up on this in spades.

Americans are special in this regard. We've never lost our gun culture. We're generally a pragmatic people and believe that hard work and attention to detail pay off. In short, arming us to secure soft targets is a good idea but that may not play out the same in Kenya.

Well, the article, and Interpol commentary IS accurate, but don't expect that to be adopted in those 'beyond lefty-loon' regions any time soon.

Like the Liar-In-Chief, they offer 'sympathies' for those innocents murdered at the hands of scumbags, but NO action against said scumbags.

The most 'effective' way to stop terrorists is to, simply, to eliminate the terrorists.

US statistics and news stories seem to be a contributor to the anti-gun views in Europe. Very few realize that the homicides are occurring in concentrated neighborhoods. It's understandable why they think our guns are the problem.

That and the fact that news about DGUs are not well publicized. Most European countries only get to hear about the school shootings

Except in the UK as one must be allowed to have views before they can change.

    It's called terminal Sheepdom.

Even sheep will eventually grow weary of the wolf. Anti-gun libs have armed guards. Anti-gun sheeple are quick to climb the fence after they have had a violent encounter with a felon. When they realize they are easily accessible prey they will either crawl into a hole and hide or find a way to defend themselves.

Terrorist that want to go after "soft targets" aren't after military bases on domestic soil they go to malls and public places. Necessity is the mother of invention...Europe has a long, long way to go. Whether they wanted to or not, they have started down that path. Sadly, when they have known enough loss they will find a way to defend themselves.

Worldwide, the clamor for citizens wanting to be able to defend themselves will only grow as the stupid violence from radical groups and criminals gets worse! (Knife violence in UK is getting worse, so we read/hear) Most people in the World want to live in peace, but the extreme few will eventually make it intolerable for everyone. I would argue that there has always been fighting/violence, but with the Internet we all know about it much more quickly these days. It unfortunately may still take a while until the rest of the world comes around to wanting the American style 2A freedom, but there is always hope!!

Just look at the UK; a long history of the IRA bombing them, then the 7/7 attacks, then Lee Rigby being murdered in public and no stomach for the right to effective self defense

Watch the HBO Documentary Terror At The Mall. This is the Kenya mall attack. It's sickening how very poorly the gov handled the so called rescue. Also highlights how much of a different outcome could have been if one or two armed citizens had been in the mall that day.
