Early renewal of handgun permit

I got my handgun permit last summer, opted for a four-year permit because money was tight right at the moment when I sent in my application. Now that I have a bit more cash in hand, can I go ahead and upgrade to a lifetime permit, or do I have to wait until closer to the expiration of my current permit?

Sec. 6. (a) Every initial application for any license under this chapter shall be granted or rejected within sixty (60) days after the application is filed.
(b) The period during which an application for the renewal of an existing license may be filed begins one hundred eighty (180) days before the expiration of the existing license. If the application for renewal of an existing license is filed within thirty (30) days of its expiration, the existing license is automatically extended until the application for renewal is passed upon.

Man that sucks, I screwed up last year and only got my 4 year, how dumn! I would love to go ahead and get my lifetime, sounds like I will have to wait a little over a year from now, I hope Obama or somebody does't change any laws!

I was also going to opt for the 4 yr but have decided to get the lifetime before anything changes (i serious doubt it will but just in case)

I got my 2nd 4 year just months before the Lifetime was approved. Cannot wait until this bill is passed and comes to light so I can renew before anything can happen.
