   | Good for you, Jennybird! Congrats on getting your LTCH in. As for training... Ask yourself how comfortable you are with a chunk of steel (and polymer?)stuck on your hip during your waking hours. Ask yourself how quickly you'll be able to draw it and get a couple of pieces of lead where you want them, several yards away. Ask yourself about your situational awareness-that is, how easy is it for someone to come up on and surprise you without you knowing they're there. Along with that, what's your reaction when they do? Do you grab your chest over your heart and gasp, "Oh GOD, you scared me!" or do you pounce on them to claw their eyes out of their skull?  If any of your answers would possibly make you more of a victim, yeah, find a formal instructor and see about fixing that problem.  Oh, and I was kidding about clawing the eyes out. Mostly.
