![]() | New to Indiana, looking to get permit I just moved to Indiana from Illinois, and am looking to get my concealed carry permit. I am aware of all of the steps involved, but on the application it says that you need to state if you have ever been convicted of a DUI. About 6 years ago in Illinois I was, paid my fees, completed all of the courses, and should technically be off my records (stupid college mistake that I am obviously still regretting). My question is should I not even bother trying to get a permit with this conviction? I got my Illinois FOID card after my conviction without any problem. I have looked through the laws for concealed carry in Indiana and nothing is specifically called out for previous DUI convictions except having to state them on the application form. Anyone have some inside information or previous experience that can help me out? |

| Expert ![]() | BTW, Indiana does not offer a Concealed Carry Permit they offer a License to Carry A Handgun. The state does not regulate whether you carry openly or concealed. This is a widely discussed topic and I am sure you will find plenty to read on the issue. Welcome to INGO.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Like others have said, the DUI shouldn't be a problem as long as it wasn't a felony just expect a 10-12 week wait before receiving your LTCH. Welcome to Indiana and INGO.
