Murat Theater

Well I am going to the Ron White show March 28th at the Murat Theater.

I have never been there before and cannot find any info on their procedures.

Do they pat down? Wand?

Do they prohibit carry? Have you carried?

They won't even let u carry a knife i've been there two times for larry the cable guy and had to take my knife back to the truck.

I went to Blake Shelton last year & I don't remember them doing anything. The wife doesn't remember them doing anything either.

We went to Dropkick Murphys last year (and again this coming Wednesday!) and the were having you lift your shirt and pant legs. No wands though. Mine will probably just stay in the car.

Do some recon work for me and leet me know! I figured I will have to leave it in the car but I hate to.

Yep will let you know. With some of the folks that go to the Murphy's concerts I would feel better if I could carry. We just hang out at the back of the room though so we don't get hurt in the fray of wannabe punks. I suppose it's to be expected at a "punk" concert though. I just like their music.

No weapons allowed, security will be doing checks, can't tell you how thorough or where they will be checking.

My dad works there part time as an usher (he retired and it is a great way to see free concerts/plays/etc) and told me the security is very tailored to the type of people they will see. When my wife an I went to Phantom of the Opera there was no wanding or screening. My dad says that if they have a country concert or comedy show then they do some wanding, anything else like a rock or rap concert get everyone wanded. Hope this helps dude.

My last two Murat experiences: Lion King in 2008 = no security check whatsoever
System of a Down in 2003 or 2004 = cursory and ineffective wanding in my general direction

Still, it's clear the security is tailored to the perceived likelihood that the show's audience will be armed or will be dangerous, etc.
