Recent attacks in Columbus.

In the last two weeks there have been two attacks/muggings in Columbus. both of which sent the victim to the hospital. In both cases the victim was attacked by two men. If you had been the victim in either of these two cases what would you have done? Would the use of deadly force been justified?

Yes. I would have been in a life-theatening situation and done what was necessary to protect myself. Hopefully I would have walked away while they had their toes fitted for tags.

If attacked by 2 men you have every right to defend yourself. But attackers usually prey on the weak and unprepared.

If you are in fear of death or great bodily harm then yes deadly force can be used. It sounds like, from the little bit of info you've given, that you would probably meet those criteria. Being put in the hospital definitely falls within the definition of 'great bodily harm'.

Yeah sorry theres not more info. I put everything that was in the local paper. I talked to a LEO friend of mine but he said he couldn't tell me anymore then what the paper said.

I guess I should have said "even with the little amount of info given". You don't really need to know more. Two guys against one, mugging/robbery with the accopanyig threats of injury for failing to 'give it up'. IMO, in that situation there is no doubt, to me, that you would meet the criteria for deadly force.

It must have been a violent attack, so that would be a good time to draw. (Actually, I'd probably have to use my Krav Maga training to give myself the time and space first, but the result would be the same.)

Locked and loaded here in Columbus! I don't read the paper (since it goes out to the big break room in the plant)...do you have any other details?

i live on 11th and layafette sothat was like 2 blocks from my house... that is crazy i know is area isnt the best but 2 in 2 weeks i am glad i am packin
