![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Mishawaka Open Carry I just got done talking to a friend who is a Mishawaka police officer. After the recent threads concerning OC, I thought I might ask him what were his opinions on whether individuals should OC. I explained how my reasoning for OC had gone from "because I can" to "deterrent" to "countering anti-gun propaganda" and he agreed! ![]() He said he often OCs when not in uniform.![]() Also, he didn't think it would be proper to approach someone who was merely OCing and ask to see their LTCH unless there was some sort of disturbance or the OCer was acting suspiciously. Basically, OC in and of itself is, in his opinion, not a reason to talk to anybody about whether he and/or she had a LTCH. One thing I was a bit disturbed by was that he said MPD SOP for a stop when someone was carrying should be to disarm the person and unload the handgun and magazine before giving it back. I should have asked him "what if the guy has a second magazine on his person?" Maybe I'll ask if I see him again today, since a lot of us carry extra magazines. FWIW. |

Yeah, I asked him this afternoon and he shrugged, laughed a little, and was like, "I guess I'm SOL then." He's a good kid. | |
