    The long and short of it is that doing something legal, like openly carrying a firearm, can’t be used to justify a detention and a search.

    Please note that Indiana laws on carrying are different than North Carolina and other states that allow open carry without a permit.

    This is posted to show what would happen if Indiana law was similar.
