(although IC 35-47-9-1 allows the carry of firearms by persons permitted to possess and who are transporting a person to or from school or a school function.)
On an Aircraft.
Controlled Access Areas Of An Airport
A Riverboat Casino.
During Annual State Fair 80 IAC 4-4-4 (Must lock in Vehicle.)
Shipping Port 130 IAC 4-1-8 (Controlled by the Indiana Port Commission)

The school issue is a big problem for me as I work in one several days a week.

I'm guessing there's no actual law against carrying on university/college property? Unfortunately I do know my school has rules against ANYONE carrying a firearm on university-owned property.

I'm sure there are lots of permit holders carrying concealed on college campus.

I think it's a decision you have to make on your own. Is being able to defend your life worth being kicked out of school if you get caught carrying?

Or is staying in school worth losing your life over?

I know, it's a very difficult decision. On one hand I believe I have a basic right to be able to defend myself and protect my life; on the other hand getting kicked out of school would be terrible as well since school basically is my life right now. Maybe I'll just have to write a few letters to my school.

I feel I have to carry in school. I go to school in Gary. There is almost no choice. Getting kicked out isn't as important as losing my life.

I am all for the writing of letters to the school. But be carefull. I feel that if you make the decision to write the school you have made the decision to not carry. Call me paranoid if you want but I feel the school would find a way to have you searched. All they would have to do is say an anomynous student or teacher saw something that looked like a firearm in your possesion.

There was a thread on another forum where a student was pulled out of class and searched by police because another student saw him on an internet gun forum.

I myself have thought about writing a letter or two but I'm scared of what my happen if I do.

This is the one that I was glad to find a couple of years ago. We take our kids to school ourselves, so I was glad to see this exception when our oldest started school and have tried to spread the word since.
