Of all the OC chest-thumpers on this board, I've yet to see anyone post a story about how a cop told them to cover up, and they refused to do so. I see a lot of anonymous ranting on a message board. Lots of good that will do. When someone tells the cop "no thanks" when told to cover their pistol, and walks off, then I'll be impressed with your committment to your rights. Otherwise, it's all just pissing in the wind.

To the OP, you can complain all you want after the incident is over, but the fact of the matter is, your rights were violated and you took it like a little girl. The cop was wrong about 2 things. He was wrong about open carry, and he was wrong about the gender of the organ on your hip.

To think....the founding fathers risked their lives and fortunes so that we could trade 1 tyrant 3000 miles away for 3000 tyrants 1 mile away. Seems like people only feel strongly about their rights on the internet. When I read in the paper that someone was wrongly arrested for exercising their rights, and is filing a lawsuit against the PD, I'll know that people are willing to actually stand up for what they believe in, instead of sitting down at home posting about it.

Are you sure that guy was a cop? I didn't read the whole thread, but I didn't see where he showed his badge or anything. Sounds more like your ordinary, everyday, amateur douchebag, rather than an officially trained and certified douchebag.

I've run into some real characters in stores. I was buying a couple of the few remaining boxes of Blazer Brass .40 the other night ($12.97 a box....F the price gougers, yeah! ) at the local Wally World, and was approached by the security guard. I got to talking with him, and he said that he used to carry the XD in the Marines. He also asked me about how to legally sell his pistol, since it is registered to him.

If I would have had some Chloroform, a rag, and a knife, I would have considered performing an emergency vasectomy on him in the back storeroom. As the hour was late, however, I elected to simply leave him to his own devices, hoping that his sloppy, greasy appearance would be sufficient to prevent any future breeding opportunities.

If you daughter (or any children) were within hearing range I would find the appropriate venue to file an official complaint regarding his derogatory comments and use of foul language. While you may(?) be a jerk citizen and he may(?) have the right to say anything about you that he wants (freedom of speech and all that) AS LONG AS he is wearing a LE uniform and is on duty he represents all of the people of his community. He needs to be held to a higher standard.

He needs to better understand that he is not always dealing with bad guys/girls (no sexism here). He has to deal with law abiding citizens who may choose to exercise their rights in a manner that he may not agree with, but he is not allowed to abuse his authority.

Just imagine how abusive someone like this might be IF he actually pulled you over for going 45 in a 40??? Holy cow!

You might also consider a letter to the editor of your local newspaper. Reread it at LEAST 10 times before sending it in.

Good advice a couple of places. I'm of the opinion that you lost the "moral high ground" to complain about his language in re: "wearing your d!ck on your hip" when you initiated the comment about "feeding me a line of ". I see it that if the language offends you, don't use it yourself. If it doesn't, don't ***** about it.

The other thing I wanted to say here is that the OP comes across to me as someone who holds a grudge. I don't mean that as an insult but rather say it because if you're going to write a letter to the paper, read it over at least 10 times, as advised, but also wait several days before sending it. Cool off and make sure it doesn't come across with anger. You make your points much better when you don't cloud them with emotion.
