Really nice test for common carry rounds

I stumbled across this while trying to find more info on the HST 147+p.

I think when the bullets have to pass through fabric is when they don't look so "pretty"

When I carry the 9mm I like the HST rounds.

Thats what I have heard as well. I wish I could do the same testing but put a light fabric in front of the jugs, as well as a separate test with maybe heavy fabric. I've heard that if the nose of the HP gets filled with fabric they do not expand or penetrate as well.

Don't believe it. Suggest you go to Evan Marshall - Handgun Stopping Power Look at 'Test Bed' forum, do a search for the caliber or particular hp you wish to investigate. Modern hollowpoints do very well thru clothing.

Nearly all of the testing used 4 layers of denim as a barrier.

Pretty much all of the testing that I have come across in regards to "HPs being plugged by <insert material>" are completely false for pretty much all of the modern HPs. The older stuff, like Hydra-Shoks, are extremely behind the times and usually have a higher fail rate when fired through material. Do yourself a favor and carry either HST, Ranger T, or Speer.

LOL, Nick shows me the site you posted everytime I go over there. I think you made his day by posting this

Edit: That HST round looks like it would do some serious damage. The wound it would leave would be a wreck!
