Really depending on the situation. I carry a LCR most of the time and G26 the rest of the time. About 60/40 split.

That is very smart. Lots of folks think that they do not need to carry an extra mag because 15 is plenty. 15 probably IS plenty, but the mag is the most common cause of failure for a semi-auto pistol, so it's smart to carry at least one backup.

It would also be prudent to inspect and clean your mags every now and then. The magazine is the core of the firearm cycle operation
