![]() | I've been running quite a bit lately trying to burn off the extra lb's and I use my Galco IWB and my elastic belt I use with my softball pants. It actually works pretty well in the small of my back. It does not flop around nor does it feel as if it will fall out. I run at night time usually around 10pm or later once the crumb crunchers and the wifey have gone to bed. The armband holding my iphone playing some tunes, drivers license, and LTCH on one arm and my Energizer Hard Case Tactical light in my hand. I keep either the red or blue light on the whole time as it helps keep me visible to motorists. |

| wheelman for hire ![]() | I don't really run, but I've got a female friend that does alot and lives in MI. I'm trying to get her to get her permit and buy something for carry up there. Even if it is just a stun gun for now. But I'm thinking about starting running soon. If I do my carry will be my taurus 709 in my belly band.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well, I just purchased two DeSantis BellyBands and a DeSantis Gun Caddie bag for running. The two Belly Bands have arrived but the Gun Caddie is on back order. I would like to be able to use the belly band, as it will hold my full size G22, however I know belly bands might cause me some issues. For starters, I know they will make your skin itch, so I already have to wear an undershirt. Second, I heard that sweat will leak through them and onto your gun, so oiling may become need on a much more frequent basis. Also, the Belly band sizing really sucks for me. I am around a 34" waist, but buy 36" pants and wear a belt since I carry inside the pants. I don't have much of a gut, but obviously it sticks out more than my waist. I think the large will work, since running for me usually involves more heavy breathing (think chest/belly going in and out more than usual). The medium feels more secure, but I think it will be too tight for right now with the breathing needed for me to run. This sucks because it means I had to buy two belly bands instead of one. If I drop a few inches from my belly, the medium will be perfect and the large won't be needed. For a gun bag, the Gun Caddie is the smallest one I could find on the market (looking on-line at least). It is 7"x4.5"x1" and is designed for a snub nose revolver or sub-compact semi-auto. I will likely use the bag once it gets here. While I always wear an undershirt on a daily basis, I don't really care to do that when I am running as I get hot really easy. I am planning to go to Walmart/Meijer and buy some of those bright yellow polyester construction safety shirts so I have more visibility. By the way, I haven't ran in many months. I was running for a while, then hurt my ankles. I think the running shoes they sold me at Dick's might be the issue. I am going to try them today to see how things go. My feet were doing fine in the New Balance trail walking shoes I had, so I might decide to use those instead. I just don't think they have much in the way of sole comfort like true running shoes. I have been told to go to one of the running stores in town and they will put me on a treadmill and tell me exactly what shoe to buy. I am going to run, at least attempt a small run, today and will wear the belly band. I will report back here later. |

![]() | I've tried carrying my kel-tec a time or two and decided to just bring slower runners with me but that's getting harder and harder to find! Seriously, I have a belly band but I can't stand carrying water let alone a firearm. My camelback would work but it's not exactly quick access. |
