![]() | Marsh at Lynhurst and Rockville, on the west side of indy. I CC'ed into the store, it was about 10:00 pm. I got together about 10 or 12 items in my cart, and their police officer on-duty approached me and asked me if i had a weapon. I said i did, and he then asked to see my permit. Showing him my permit to carry, he then informed me that 'management is nervous that a person with a gun is in their store, and would like you to leave'. I was mid-shopping, i still had a box of cake mix in my hands. I tossed it into the cart, said 'Sure thing, i'll head right out', and proceeded to leave without buying anything, afterwards contacting 4 or 5 people i know that CC to most places and notify them of the newest addition to our **** list. Needless to say, that particular store will be frequented by 4 or 5 happy-to-CC-er's in the next few weeks, but no purchases will be made if they are asked to leave. Note: This is the first time i was asked to leave the establishment, and was actually *escorted* out by the on-duty officer. I felt... violated. People have seen me OC and CC into places before, and noone's ever asked me to leave. You'd think that they'd feel safer.

Also a rather direct but polite phone call would be made to Marsh HQ the next day. Just a side thought, grocery stores have VERY SMALL profit margins. I have a feeling that HQ would not like customers being drivin away for legal activities. |

The person that asked to see your permit is not a police officer. He is a security guard, and I use that term lightly. Do non-LEOs working security for an establishment even have the right to demand someone to show their LTCH? It may be worth looking in to.

It would merit a call to their Corporate Offices to see if there is actually a legal gun policy. It might very well be that this security officer just wanted to exert his authority.

And you certainly have the right to protest to higher management. (now this is assuming that the OP was not creating the hostile situation) | |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Wow. I know sometimes people take exception to OC, but to kick you out because of CC? That's really weird. Were you printing really obviously or something? It has been my experience that generally, the people that notice CC ARE the people that CC. The manager must be REALLY holophobic or something.
