![]() | What is considered campus? I live near Purdue university in West Lafayette and have my LTCH. I know that carrying on campus is against the law, but what is considered campus? Is it the academic campust or is it anything within a certain range? just to be safe i never carry in West lafayette unless i am driving through without stopping. Any information or input would be great. thanks, ianreed |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It's not illegal to carry on campus, only against their policy. If you're a student and get caught, you will most likely get expelled. If not a student, all they can do is ask you to leave. If you refuse, they'll get you for trespass. |

![]() | I was actually going to post the part about what exactly is considered campus a couple days ago, but by the time I got to the computer I forgot what I was going to ask about. haha. I also live in the W. Lafayette area. I am a student, and was curious about what is considered "campus." Thanks |

![]() ![]() | I've been a Purdue student in WL, I now live in Lafayette, and I work in West Lafayette. As others have said, there is no Indiana law prohibiting you from carrying on a campus but Purdue does have regulations stating you cannot carry "on campus". I would consider this any building owned or operated by Purdue University and any land that building sits on. Obviously, it is up to you whether you want to risk your education just to carry on school grounds. Chauncey Hill and Wabash Landing/Levee are not Purdue University grounds. I work for Tippecanoe Co EMS, stationed in West Lafayette, and if you want to PM me your address I can give you a better idea of what is considered "on campus" if you are interested. Basically, these are the Purdue buildings/grounds in West Lafayette. Essentially the academic, administrative, residential, sports complexes, facility services buildings, etc. You get the point. ![]() |

Don't care what you were told, as others have mentioned. You can LEGALLY carry on Purdue's campus. If you are student, you are going to get expelled because it is against their laws. (if they find out obviously) I have called Purdue police several times to ensure their policy on carrying around campus, and driving through, stopping a the circle k just across the street, chauncey, etc, are not "on campus". So even if you get pulled over on stadium carrying, you cannot get expelled or in trouble with the school. It's a public road, and you're allowed to travel on it. Can't be any more clear than that! ![]()

![]() | Though I've carried many places, I don't think it's worth tempting expulsion by carrying on Purdue grounds as a student. I would imagine that a nonzero number of Purdue students/faculty do carry on campus, but I'm not one of them. Needless to say, if somebody pulls a gun on me on campus I'll be fairly pissed I don't have my piece ![]() ![]() Last edited by kb9wte; 09-27-2009 at 22:00. |

![]() | Thanks for the help everyone, but what about like sidewalks on the edge of campus? For example the sidewalk on the East side of northwestern between McD's and on south to Grant. What about the same stretch but on the west side of the road by Armstrong, Physics, EE, etc.? |
