That really has nothing to do with the question. Numerous people carry into places that have that sign posted. If it is concealed, they will not know. However, once you are 'made' what can or can't they do?

as long as the reunion is off school property, you'd be fine....because from what I can tell, its always on the class's part to organize, so I'll say most are not school functions, there's surely exceptions though

Hell, call them and ask?

I asked this at a place that I go to regularly...basically told the guy I carry and that since I didn't know how they/he felt about it, was it cool if I did. You know what he said? "Well, it is your right, so do what you gotta do." Totally level headed and not freaked out by my question. I doubt that would be the received response by the Conseco help line.

We need Bryan Ciyou on here to help us out.

If you walk past a sign that says "No firearms allowed" and then get made by the metal detector then I suppose you could be arrested for trespassing.

They can ask you to leave and then if you refuse, they could get the police involved.

I don't mind the discussion of school related properties, but my main purpose of this post was in regards to my original scenario.

If a function or event is not sponsored, sanctioned, or in any way supported by by the actual school, its current administration, current staff, and/or its current school board, then it is NOT an "official" school function or event.

Class reunions are private social events

But if it were held on school property, it still could be illegal, if there happens to be another event going on at the same time, that would be considered a "school function"

In Florida you cannot be arrested for trespassing until you've been served with a trespass warning by a LEO / process server or force entry use non standard means of entry like jumping fence, climbing thru open window ect.

From what I understand from speaking with some LEO friends up here as well unless it's a .gov location it's the same thing. You cannot be arrested unless you fail to leave when verbally asked or "force entry" including jumping of a fence.

I believe at conseco they'd confiscate your ticket and refuse you reentry even unarmed. They could confiscate your ticket because it is technically property of the venue and you violated their TOS.

Worse case you get a written warning for trespass upto 6 months.

Depends on who's sponsoring the reunion. If the school corporation itself is sponsoring the reunion, then yeah...it's a "school function". However, most class reunions that I've ever dealt with have been sponsored by formal (or informal) alumnae associations. If the reunion is held in school property, however, then the state law applies.
