   | Great story. I'm very glad to hear that the BG was using FMJ & didn't hit anything vital. This occurrence highlights the need for situational awareness, mental preparedness, practiced dexterity, and 1 in the chamber. I've only been carrying for about 4-5 months now. For the first 2 months, I didn't carry chambered. Instead, I practiced two things with my XDm; First, no booger-hook on the bang-switch; Second, thumb on the back of the slide so as not to engage the grip-safety until it was time. After a few months of handling it this way, I gained the confidence to go ahead & chamber a round for EDC.
