 | LTCH Handguns and General Aviation Aircraft A question on my mind for some time has been whether your IN LTCH allows you to carry a firearm on a rented General Aviation aircraft, I am talking like small 4 seater Cessna 172/182, Piper Arrow or similar, an aircraft you rent for a couple hours at a local airport. Are there any applicable federal laws? The reason I am asking is the LTCH specifically states NOT VALID ON COMMERCIAL AIRCRAFT and I have yet to find a reference as to what Indiana considers a commercial aircraft. If I'd own the plane, I don't think it would be an issue at all or are there federal laws that apply? But what if it's an aircraft that primarly for renting at a local FBO. I am not talking a charter flight, I am mean an airplane I go out and rent for a couple hours and fly myself in. Is it legal to have a handgun with you or not. I have never had a need and never done but have been wondering about it and yet have to find an answer. Any comments or IC applicable are appreciated. I realize probably only affects a few people here on the board. |
