My problem with OC

This not a thread against OC, just what I have experienced OCing. After the OC Walk in Indy I began to OC, every time I OC I get comments like, hiya officer, how u doin officer, did u take care of the officer her. I'm wondering if any one else gets these coments.


By the way, I'm not a LEO, I'm 6 feet overweight and walk with a bad limp.

Sounds like most LEO's I know.

I OC regularly and have never been called officer... just cowboy.

The guy at the Walmart deli asked me if I was with the police or Sheriff department. I explained neither...just a citizen with a license.
He said that he didn't know you could just carry a gun.
I replied that many people are not aware of that.

BTW, I'm 6', overweight and don't OC. But I certainly respect your right to!

No discount on doughnuts, but I was told I could have free fountain drinks and coffee at a Speedway gas station if I came in uniform.

Sweet I love Speedways coffee you think if I OC I could get free coffee I too am over 6' overweight and have a slight limp.

And here I thought I was going to be able to get into another OC vs. CC debate. I've had people ask me if I am LE on occasion. Not very often though. Only had someone assume I was once. That one got me 50% off my bill at Denny's. Even after I informed the manger I was not an officer he still gave me the discount. Some people just have the LE look to them. You must be one of them.

I do get asked occasionally. My "nope" generally leads to explaining that IN has a license for those who choose to carry.

I don't mind in the slightest. People deserve to know.

I'd rather have the LE look to me, but I always get asked are you in the mob, to which I reply theres no such thing. Then they just look at me and walk away, Then I go about my bsuiness.
