Authorities Arrest Six After More Than 100 Brawl At Gas Station

Another prime example for the reason to carry. With Gas Prices raising to all time highs, continued civil unrest in large urban areas and the worsening economy will only add to the potential victimization of law abiding citizens. Anyone of us could have been caught up in this dangerous situation by merely stopping for gasoline.

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Lee County authorities estimate more than 100 people were involved in a ruckus at a southwest Florida gas station.

Sheriff spokesman John Sheehan said authorities are still investigating the incident, but it appears the fight at the south Fort Myers gas station started over a stolen pack of cigarettes.

Six people, including two teenagers, were arrested after the incident.

Authorities say the crowd made its way to the RaceTrac gas station at around 1 a.m. Monday morning, after a teen night at a Cape Coral club ended. An officer estimated the crowd's size was about 200 people in a report.
