| Marksman ![]() | For those who think safety reminders are legalistic... Agents accidentally shot while gun being holstered Published: 8/5/08, 8:45 PM EDT EL PASO, Texas (AP) - Two federal agents wounded in an accidental shooting at the federal courthouse were shot when a U.S. Marshal's gun went off as he was trying to holster it, federal authorities said Tuesday. Officials with the U.S. Marshal Service said a deputy marshal and a U.S. Border Patrol agent suffered gunshot wounds Monday morning when the marshal was trying to holster his gun after removing it from a security locker. The agents were in a secure hallway on the courthouse's third floor. The agents, whose names have not been released, were treated at a local hospital after the incident and have since been released. Rule #3 for those of us who don't mind being reminded. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yes, keep your finger in the trigger until your gun is fully holstered. Always good for a bang. I think getting people in the mindset of removing their finger from the trigger and indexing any time they are not about to immediately shoot is the single most import thing to teach.
