Plenty of country-ish types, but didn't see much of the WT.

And, oddly enough, no 'bangers, either. Plenty of folks of color, though.

And DANG, Percherons are freaking huge!!

Ditto... was mostly nice, quiet, friendly, and polite country folk... and then I saw a handful of other types (and not to be racist, anti any religion or anything... but I was surprised to see a few muslim women with hijabs on, a few Indian [as in the country] persons, and even some Japanese women dressed up like geisha in a single file line behind a Japanese man).

Were you there Sunday evening for the 8 horse hitches?? Seeing 6 of those squeezed into an area the size of a hockey rink is awesome.

I don't carry in places that it is illegal to. I do carry in places where it is policy to not have a gun. Basically if I can't be hauled off in cuffs and havea criminal record for carrying, then I'm carrying.

I used to carry every day at my old job that had a "noguns" policy, but they were the idiots wanting me to work until midnight downtown more or less by myself. I decided F-them and to carry anyways. If they found out, they would fire me, but I would rather be jobless than injured or dead.

As for the original question, same as every year, I don't go. I went once and I couldn't figure out just what the hell is supposed to be so damn fun there. Rickety rides that are designed to come apart with toothless drooling idiots operating them, crappy over priced food, a-holes everywhere, that wonderful scent of animal crap. Am I missing something?

Yeah, what you said!

Having recently gone through Alabama in route to Pensacola, and getting to sample the peaches, cherries, watermelons, etc they had, there's nothing much at the In. State Fair I'd be interested in anyway.

However, on that fateful day when we are all out on the front porch sipping drinks and picking off zombies with our tanals, the stories will finally get told because those who concerned themselves with "carry here, but no carry there" would have been long eaten by the undead masses.

Until then, OPSEC/shhhh/STFU/etc.

Yes, the money required. To quote my fiancee's brother who took two kids there. "I spent like $200, I mean what the hell!"

ive been reading through this state fair grounds stuff and how carrying isnt allowed but how does it pertain to the gun show that they have there, ive never been there before, am i wrong to assume you can carry there since buying/selling of guns is going on there

IIRC, the only ban on carrying is during the state fair, unless otherwise specified by the vendor of the whatever event. You can carry at the 1500, just not loaded, as they will specify when you enter.
