for now, all my 30cal cans work on my 556 guns(I bought extra YHM QD mounts for all of them). they work good, but the are big.

the main selling point of the K model is its size.

If all your current cans utilize the YHM mounts, you know you'll have to pick and choose which ones will use the different mounting system for the Specwar. If you're wanting a smaller can, have you considered a direct thread? The Gemtech Trek is selling for $295 from Phoenix Distributors and IMHO is a great can. They sell out quickly but they get them back in stock fairly often.

Now that is a bargain-centerfire can for the price of rimfire. Hopfully they will get more.
