Detachable stock NFA stamp on c96?

I have long wanted to get a c96 with the holster/stock accessory, which would make it a SBR. Does the stamp follow the holster/stock or is it registered as a complete unit? And then, if sold separately, do I have to worry about transferring or anything I would need to know?

AFAIK, old stocked pistols like the Mausers, artillery Lugers and Inglis Hi-Powers, are not covered under the NFA due to their age.

C&R rules apply to the majority of these types of firearms.

I know that the old Inglis Hi-Powers with the wooden stock are C&R and "grandfathered" in.

I'm sure there will be someone along who'll be able to 'splain.

Ah, ok. I am still waiting for my C&R app to arrive. I have heard the wait times are getting to be long right now.

It's not grandfathering as they were once covered by the NFA. The ATF removed a number of items from the NFA a few years ago such as short barreled Winchester "Trapper" rifles in original configuration. Also, certain stocked pistols were removed as long as the hardware connecting the stock to the pistol was made before a certain date.
