+1. The aggregation sites are a good way to get a quick "lay of the land," but before any trip out of state, I re-check directly with the states through which I'll be traveling. It's fairly quick and easy to do online. As Jim said, the aggregation sites can fall behind, and laws and things change, as the recent change in Nevada's recognition illustrates.

First, let me say that I attended this course in Indy a month or so back and Jim provided excellent instruction. You should expect to review some things you already know...learn some you didn't...and have a laugh or two in the process with some really good folks. The course is thorough without being stiff and boring. The guys literally have everything you need to drop your application packet in the mail except passport-style photos.

If you are wondering, I'm a fan and feel that my money was extremely well spent. So much so, I registered for the DPG Wilderness First Aid course August 15-16, 2009.

I agree with Jim on this one. I personally START on the NRA reciprocity guide because it has good basic information and, more importantly, handy links to the proper State agency websites in every state. I visit the site for the State I'm interested in and then, if there is even a hint of question in my mind, I'll call them directly. All the clever guides out there are useful, just not as the end-all-be-all tool they are sometimes held up to be.

My is to start with the reciprocity guide on the NRA site and link over to the relevant State site for the latest and greatest information.
