![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Will this event also be subject to sudden and unexpected cancellation? Explain the yellow vs. orange on the map. (EDIT: I just figured that out- nevermind )Do you need a valid reason to have this non-resident permit (like work?)

ok. No, Utah does not ask for a reason. Most people get it because they travel, especially to OH. Regards, Jim

![]() ![]() ![]() | Legally carry a concealed firearm in 33 States! "NOT" I hope folks realize that having this Utah license does NOT give them a free pass to carry in any of the states that have reciprocity with Utah. Local city ordinances and laws supercede laws in other states. Do your research before forking over the money folks. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | I am not going to engage in a debate or "flame war" in any way, but will answer the question as someone who has been to Utah and has the information directly from the Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification. The State of Utah has worked very hard to secure formal agreements with most of the states listed and has reciprocity with the others, so YES you can carry legally in those states, just as you can carry in states that have reciprocity with Indiana. That is why it is called reciprocity. If you could not carry a firearm in that state, why would the state list they have reciprocity with another state(s) permit/license? Of course local laws always apply, and you are always subject to the laws of the state you are in REGARDLESS of which state issued your concealed handgun license/permit (which is discussed as a part of the Utah course). However, your logic, as stated in your posting, is that if a particular city has an ordinance against concealed carry that you cannot carry anywhere in that state, that is not correct and is misleading. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thanks Jim for the information. Local laws *cough* chicago *cough* are are pain but it seems that your course if taken will help those of us that travel thru most of these states and do temp stops. I'm happy with the answer and hope to be able to take this course this year or next to finally get my UT permit.

![]() ![]() ![]() | You are welcome. We travel all the time with Utah permits, and know several executive protection agents who travel armed with UT permits and have never had an issue. Look forward to meeting you... Jim Quote:
