I didn't have any idea that this forum existed until just a few days ago. It was recommended by a friend and member. I am more of a reader than writer but will try to add my .02 when I have something of value for the membership. I am originally from the Tipton area (THS '66) and now live in Lebanon. I am not new to firearms having spent my first 20 yrs on the farm, but now disabled they have become much more important to me since I can't run.,
I enjoy mostly pistol and long range high power shooting. I look forward to meeting many of you freedom loving folks in the future.

Let me share a little about myself.

My name is John, and I have been a proponent of the Second Amendment and responsible gun ownerhship for as long as I can remember. I am a student who has recently moved to Indianapolis from New Jersey, which I not-so-fondly refer to as the People's Republic of New Jersey, due to their outrageously restrictive gun ownership/carry laws as well as knife ownership/carry. While in New Jersey, I worked as a delivery driver in Newark, NJ, which is the 5th most dangerous job in the US, in one of the country's worst cities. This experience only cemented my views on concealed carry.

At my previous college I spent two years in the Army ROTC program, and was fortunate enough to learn some very cool things from the cadre there (however I am NOT military). My shooting experience thus far has been primarily with AR variants from ROTC, skeet shooting, and my handgun shooting has mostly been with 1911s, as well as Glock and Sig 9mm's. I will be turning 21 in a few weeks time, and soon after will buy my first handgun (Glock 23). While the 1911 remains my favorite pistol platform, I cannot afford a quality one on a student budget, so am therefore settling for a Glock.

It was my intention to hold off registering to this forum until I actually became an Indiana gunowner, but I am due to give a persuasive speech for one of my college classes, and I decided I would sign up now to get assistance and input from you fine folks. I will be posting that topic shortly, so please feel free to contribute.

I've been a gun nut since I wore short pants, and therefore have alot of book knowledge on the subject. However, I am by no means an expert, and I hope to expand my base of practical knowledge here in Indiana. I look forward to learning and contributing, and getting to know you all better. Thank you for having me.
