Steel at ACC Saturday 11/21

We will be having the Steel match at ACC all the usual stuff at the usual times.

Basically setup at 8, sign in around 9 and shooting after the 945 Shooter's meeting.

I will place the match announcement on here once available.

Hope to see you there and why not come back Sunday for the USPSA match to make a full weekend of shooting?

Idea for FNS

I had just typed this in another thread and it was locked before I posted. Maybe that is a sign my idea sucks?

Anyway.........I have an idea for FNS and I think it fits the spirit of it too

In the womens forum a member has posted he wants help for his wife to select a handgun. Many people also want to "check out" FNS before they jump in.

A stand alone stage is set up. Static plates only, nothing elaborate. There is a table with some handguns, shotguns maybe a cheap PCR like a Keltec. A shooter could sign the release etc...pay a small fee, pay for ammo or bring suggested brand/caliber of ammo. It is a chance to try different types or calibers of weapons. See how a stage works, further check out the club and FNS.

Just a thought. Yes I would be willing to help. My hope is my GF will too but she has to be an expert before she will want to train anyone, if at all.

it early but i was just woundering if anyone could help me out.. i would like to find a beginner trap league around indy that i could join in the spring.. i would like to know how the scoring works and so on.. i go out and shoot the birds now but on how the scoring and ranks work, iam clueless

Basically 6 stages including a classifier.

Any body going to the USPSA Riley Conservation Club Sunday?

I plan on taking my son and watching the last match of the year so I can get him involved in March when they start back up.

Since he will be 12 years old in March, I need to figure out what gun will work for him,, I am considering having a Glock 19 grip reduction for him, if this is even allowed.

Deer Hunting Land Wanted!

I know it's late in the game, but I am looking for some deer hunting land that I can get to within about 30 minutes or less from Fishers. I usually go to North Carolina each year but the reletives cannot afford it this year.

I hunt with a .60 cal. Flintlock/muzzle loader and eat what I kill. I am not a trophy hunter. Please PM me if you know of a place. I'm going to start asking farmers up near Arcadia and Atlanta. Thanks!

Rimfire Sporter Competition at Camp Perry

Has anyone participated in this event? I have a few questions. I'm looking to attend this event in 2010. Since this is new to me, I thought someone that has been there , might be able to answer billeting questions, rifle questions/ practice/ shooting position questions etc. I posted a similiar thread the CMP website this afternoon, but I haven't seen any responses yet.

Marion County Fish and Game will be holding it's monthly member meetings on the first Tuesday of each month. The meeting for November was tonight (03, November 2009) and we had a considerable turnout of new members. Dues paid for the remainder of 2009 will ensure your membership through the end of 2010. In other words, if you join yet this year, you do get the remainder of this year for free! The next member meeting is Tuesday, 01 December, 2009.

Dues are $100/year with a $25 initiation fee for new members. Members are welcome to bring guests, provided that they pay a $10 (per visit) temporary membership fee. Membership at MCF&G covers the member, his/her spouse and any minor children in the household. Members also enjoy discounts on entry fees for events held at the club. This makes membership an excellent value!

We are a shooting range on the West Side of Indianapolis, near Speedway. Most common IDPA gun?

I have been looking into the IPDA info and they state that a common service pistol or revolver such as a Beretta 92F, Glock 17/22, Sig 226, Colt 1911A1, S&W 686 or Ruger GP-100 carried in a common pancake style holster is all that is needed to be competitive in IDPA matches.

What model of 1911 gun do you guys see the most? Other sites state that the Kimber, SA, STI are the most popular, and occasionly some Colt models shop up.

Does this appear to be the same around Indiana?
