Taurse 22m 9 shot

Just thought of something. However, I am still thinking of selling my 9 shot 22m for a semi auto.

I have a revolver; 22m - 9 shot stainless. The mag would sure be nice and when shooting a mag shot shell, more power would be there for greater distance on birds, snakes etc. But alas, it is not a semi.

I noticed that the SOG site never mentioned a mag. :dunno: Just 22L. Could be because there are no 22 mags in semi.

Just a thought because i have the mag and not the semi 22L, whcih is what I want :nopity:.

Best way to find the model you want?

First time poster here... Here goes!

I'm finally to the point in my life where I'm ready to purchase my first handgun. The kids are older and the wife is on-board with ownership. I've done a lot of research (a few weeks worth) into what I want and why I want it. Leaving those details aside (make / model / etc), I've done some internet searching to find a dealer near where I live (NE Indy) that sells what I want. Unfortunately, stock appears to change faster than most places can keep their web sites up to date. The best you can find is what brands they represent - and they all seem to represent most.

My question is: what's the best way to locate the specific model of handgun that you desire? I really don't want to spend a lot of time running from shop to shop - but if that's what I have to do, then so be-it.

TIA!

The new Ruger LCR is a +P rated .38 cal revolver which sports a polymer frame and judicious use of steel to keep the weight at about 13.5 ounces empty. The Ruger features a double action only mechanism with a an enclosed hammer. Does anyone own one of these light revolvers or has fired one? I'm curious how well the quality of construction compares to the Smith model 442/642 or similar revolver. See pic and specs below.

I am considering a Rugar MKIII or a SW semi. I am familur with Rugar but not SW. I would want about 7" bull type barrel, stainless, w/rail base for scope. I will put Pakmir grips on it and a red dot scope. I like built in rails to eliminate rings.

Since I am not familur with the differences in the two, some comments?

My LCP was shipped back to RUGER with an off center firing pin strike.... Within 9 days of the shipping date, I had the gun at my front doorstep, with a brand new slide. Considering the shipping was over night on the way there, and 2 days on the way back, They had it less than a week.

Always willing to be polite, and help on the phone, I give Ruger a standing slow clap.

How many times can I chamber the top round in a semiauto?

How many times do you think you can chamber a round and unchamber ii before you cause the bullet to be pushed back in enough to worry about increased pressure?
This would arise from clearing the pipe on a carry peice nightly or after a road trip.

Thanks!

New Charter Arms Undercover Fail

Just picked up a Charter Arms Undercover .38 snubbie. Did a lot of research on the company through it's various incarnations and checkered history. With eyes wide open, decided to take a chance. Some folks had good experiences with the post-2007 product. I wanted a snubbie again, (used to own a S&W 442 Airweight) American made and not much $$$$. The fit and finish was a littler rough, but not as bad as I was bracing myself for.

Image: http://i724.photobucket.com/albums/ww241/ecard5370/2007-01-0100-05-38_0011.jpg
Trigger pull was much smoother than expected.

Those are A Zoom Snap Caps you see in there. Haven't gotten a chance to take it to the range, but I dried fired about 200 times. Not bad, until the trigger jammed all the way to the back and wouldn't reset! I pulled back the hammer manually (it's not hammerless, just bobbed from the factory) and clunk!, a little rectangular piece of metal fell out! I set it on the grip to take a pic:

Image: http://i724.photobucket.com/albums/ww241/ecard5370/IMGP0017.jpg

Turns out the end of the hammer block simply broke, snapped off like a cheap piece of pot metal. Hmm, for $122 less than another Airweight, I'm not so sure about the wisdom of my decision.

Now I get to see how good their lifetime warranty is. I wonder if I returned the gun to Charter Arms and paid them another $200 bucks if they would just buy me a S&W:):

You pays your money and takes your chances. I will never do something like this again. Ever.

I love my Kahr CW9. It is my primary carry and a great value. However, there has always been one big downside that bothered me- no aftermarket sights- night sights, fiber optic, or otherwise. Just the basic white-dot sights. I've been thinking about upgrading to the P9 just to get the night sights.

Well, Kahr has finally rectified this problem. They now offer fiber optic sights and will very soon have night sights available. If you are interested in these for your CW, check these links:

Best all around revolver???

I am searching for the best all around revolver for carry and for hunting. Ideally I would like to shoot accurately out to 100+ yards. Have less that a 6" barrel to make it easy to carry. Prefer a .357 magnum or .44 magnum. I have been researching alot of revolvers and would like to get your opinions on what you all think fits the bill. The best one I have seen was a ruger redhawk with a $695 custom job done to it. I really hate to spend that kind of money after buying a gun to make it fit the bill. The one thing I really like about the Ruger is the ability to remove the scope then replace it without losing accuracy when using the ruger scope mounts. This is a major plus to me. On the other hand I have seen some nice Colts and Smiths also. My head is spinning trying to figure out what will really fit the bill. :dunno:
