I recently picked up another SP1 carrier to build another host around, kind of want to do an 11.5" carbine or maybe a poor mans LMG (20" chrome-lined bull barrel, vented aluminum handguard, Beta mag). I'll have a little time to figure that out.

The idea is to create a thread with all the class 3 dealers in Indiana. So, I am asking for your help, to please post the dealers your familiar with, their contact info and their general transfer price for a class 3 item. Hopefully with the help of everyone the list will grow and may be eventually make into a sticky people can use as a reference.

We could then may be have them organized by the geographical part of state, like NW, NE, SW, SE, Indy are and so forth.

Just want opinions as to whether we should attempt to get the Indiana SBS restriction changed ? Do you think the current make up of the state legislature would be a good time to try. My local state rep is a gun guy, and I feel he would be receptive to introducing the change. with the budget woes of the state, would we be able to slip it in , or do you think it would be political suicide when we are facing real problems. just throw out your thoughts.

I ordered a Cobra 9mm Modular can on 07/06/09 after the YHM representative told me it was "in stock" and ready. I called yesterday to check the status and was told the paperwork should be sent out to ATF in a "couple weeks".

I am very disappointed that it takes 4+ months for a professional company to even mail a form. I have been told that it is a practice of YHM to hold Form 3's until they have several before sending a batch to ATF.

I would say this will be my first and last YHM can.

I'm still going to be deployed for the next 10, or hopefully more, months. I just bought a 10.5" RRA upper, it's being stored a friends home who owns no ARs, or any other guns for that matter, to avoid constructive intent.

Is there anything I have to be physically present for? IE, could I have the fingerprint stuff mailed to me (or print it off if possible), fill out my paperwork, mail it to the states, and have someone add a money order and go from there so I don't have to wait months upon my return to have my upper? Also, I know it requires a photo, would a digital photo printed out on high quality photo paper be sufficient?

Thanks in advance.

What are the differences in the lower receiver btw the M16A1 and M16A2

Ok. There is the burst vs full auto, the different grips, stocks... but I am not talking about that. What I am referring to are the supposed changes to the lower receiver that make the M16A2 receiver more durable/stronger. I have seen old legacy AR15 receivers that are flat on the left side of the mag well which is not the case for the new AR15 receivers and I always expected the M16A1 receivers to be that way too. But I saw an M16A1 marked receiver with these 'reinforcements' today and now I am completely confused as to what the lower receiver differences are? Checking the web has so far not brought up much except that the lower receiver for the supposedly M16A1 rifle on wikipedia looks the same as the M16A2. But some older ones are flat on the left side. :dunno:

I am a law enforcement officer (Not ATF, mind you) and am trying to dig throught the complications of SBR'dom. On my former department, I used a 12.5" SBR for my SWAT weapon, but that was given to me by the dept, so I didn't think much of it. Now, on my new department, I can carry a patrol rifle, unfortunately purchased by yours truly, as long as I qualify with it.

Now, all that being said, I heard from some other officers that I can make a SBR without the tax stamp, under the exception that the CLEO writes a letter stating that the weapon will be used for LE purposes. I thought I would ask the brain trust on here if they had heard that before. Sounds a little 'off' to me, but I ask anyway! Thanks in advance!

I'm about to sell off a few other toys, possibly to have $$$ for a suppressor. The question is "Where do I start?!"

I currently own a G27 and a Beretta 92FS, so I've thought about doing something similar to this thread (http://ingunowners.com/forums/class_iii_nfa/34153-so_i_want_to_add_a_suppressor_to_a_beretta_92fs.html#post375151) for the Beretta... But Britton also has a great deal on those Tac65 .22LR suppressors too... I don't have a .22LR handgun yet, but I could pickup a P22 + Tac65 for close to what I'd spend on the 9mm suppressor + barrel threading (or so I imagine).

With all that being said, if you recommend I go with the 9mm suppressor, what should I look at? The Trident SW9? I'm not looking to dump a ton of money into this, so if the 9mm + barrel threading is going to be near $1k investment, I may just stick with the P22 + Tac65.

Been meaning to take my Krink in to get a stock on it and finally got the chance this week. It is made alot easier now because Bloomfield Arms & Ammo is now a SOT (my Krink is an SBR).

Anyways, it was pretty nice and Ryan is more than patient with my 9 year old who had a hard time keeping his hands off the rifles and stuff lying all over the store.

At one point I was showing him an Israeli FAL (with the Hebrew on the side) and asked Ryan about it to which he responded, "Yeah that's a post dealer sample." :yesway:

He took the time to go over my options for the Krink and after working it through over and over, I decided to go 180 degrees different but feel good about it.

In any event, the boy and I had a good time and I met a some nice guys in there (one was at the 1500 and tried to warn Mr. SBR Idiot to take that rifle apart - they were talking about it while I was there). And the price for the work was more than fair.

Last but not least, there was one more gun across the street that the boy just had to play with:
