The Associated Press: Mom: Son in coma heard everything for 23 years (http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5hgsMsAOMKbccOJb8x-r1pkC1PPCQD9C5B9T00)

Mom: Son in coma heard everything for 23 years
(AP) – 2 hours ago

BRUSSELS — A mother says her son has emerged from what doctors thought was a vegetative state to say he was fully conscious for 23 years but could not respond because he was paralyzed.

Rom Houben had a car crash in 1983 and doctors thought he had sunk into an apparent coma. Still, his family continued to believe their son was conscious and had sought further medical advice.

Dr. Audrey Vanhaudenhuyse said Houben's mother finally met Belgian expert Steven Laureys, who realized that the medical diagnosis for her son was wrong.

Laureys then taught Houben how to communicate through a special keyboard.

*A record label executive has been arrested for allegedly refusing to use twitter at the behest of the police. *
Justin Bieber, a Canadian-born teen star who was apparently discovered on YouTube, was scheduled to appear in Roosevelt Field mall in Long Island, New York this past weekend. Unfortunately, Justin's people weren't quite prepared for the massive crowd of screaming teenage girls that descended on the mall.
Things got a little on the crazy side (teenage girls cannot handle Justin Bieber and Twilight in the same weekend) and police asked James Roppo, a Senior VP at Justin's label, Island Def Jam records, to hop onto twitter and tell the hundreds of waiting fans to clear off because the show had been canceled.
The police claim that Roppo failed to do so:
"We asked for his help in getting the crowd to go away by sending out a Twitter message," said Nassau County Police Det. Lt. Kevin Smith, according to the AP (http://www.google.com/hostednews/canadianpress/article/ALeqM5h2jEPl4BV3d8i1u2LsvBLnY6dTvg). "By not cooperating with us, we feel he put lives in danger and the public at risk."
However, tweets from Justin's profile show the 15-year-old R&B singer tried to send people home on two occasions. they are not allowing me to come into the mall. if you dont leave I and my fans will be arrested as the police just told us.
the event at roosevelt mall is cancelled. please go home. the police have already arrested one person from my camp. I dont want anyone hurt

A report on NY Daily News (http://www.nydailynews.com/news/2009/11/21/2009-11-21_island_def_jam_records_exec_.html) complicates thing even further. The site says Roppo tweeted that Bieber was actually signing autographs while police tried to disperse the crowd. Police say he could face charges including reckless endangerment, criminal nuisance, obstruction of governmental administration and endangering the welfare of children

+1 RAMBONE

It was a pleasure to do business with RAMBONE. He even met me twice for the transaction due to a bonehead move on my part... I forgot that Bersa ships their firearms with the internal safety lock engaged so the slide could not be racked. After I received guidance on the issue I had to make the red-faced call to RAMBONE to set up the transaction again.

I am just glad that I was dealing with an understanding individual.

I would not hesitate to do business with RAMBONE again.

I'm in the makret for an entry level firearm save. I believe that all the major brands will be pertty much the same (Cannon, Liberty, Ft. Knox, Cabela's, etc..) in terms of quality, fire protection at the entry level. What I don't know about is _*customer service, company honoring their warranty, stories from those that HAVE used their waranty.*_

Here is what I am looking for in specifics.
- A safe that can secure the following: 1 AK, 1 AR, 1 Shotgun, 1 AR-7, 2 handguns

- The ability to have it bolted to the floor
- Comes with a mechanical lock; I'm EMP paranoid and don't trust electrical locks.

So any horor stories from anyone in terms of bad company service?
An safe people would stay away from?
Thanks

WTS: FTF Indy area

Taurus PT1911, blued with "gold" highlights, some finish wear, unknown round count, mechanically great (never had an issue with the gun)! Comes with hard case, 1 mag, keys, paperwork and manual. The Series 80 parts have been removed, but are available with the gun if sold. The finish on the gold stuff and grip screws is a little rough, but serviceable (the gold is turning nickle?), gun is a little bit of a project (grip safety needs work).

Intended to refinish this gun, fell through.

$320 FIRM, no trades

:welcome:
My wifes 08 Nissan Altima Sedan needs new tires and I have no clue where to start. Well I did get on TireRack's website and figure out what the stock size is for them, but I have no brand preference, etc...

We just want something inexpensive that is good for all seasons.

Thanks for any insight you have! :patriot:

Associated PressTERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- A Terre Haute church upset some residents with a message on its outdoor sign that mentioned Allah.
The sign outside the Bible Baptist Church was recently posted with the message, "Jesus died and rose and lives for you. What did Allah do."
Saagarika Coleman says she was "horrified" when she saw the sign on her way to school. She says the message seems like an unchristian challenge to Muslims.
Pastor Bob Parker told the Tribune-Star of Terre Haute the sign wasn't meant to be derogatory toward Islam. He says its message simply meant that "the founder of Christianity still lives."
The church changed the sign this week. Parker says the message changes weekly, and that he wasn't concerned about negative reactions to the sign.

*Wow we have a smart Pastor there.*
*God is Allah*
*Allah is God*
*Maybe he needed some classes on other religions.*
*Comparing Jesus to Allah is foolish.*
*Comparing Jesus to Mohammad would make more sense.*
*If I sent him a letter telling him Allah gave us Jesus would he understand?:dunno:*
