Marlin 1895G 45/70 (barrel not ported)

I bought this rifle in March of 2009. It was used, but like new off of an online auction. The guy had only fired about 40 rounds through it, if that. I bought it and planned to use it for a bear hunt this fall. Since, I bought it, I’ve only shot 70 rounds through the gun. The bear hunt fell through, so I’ll be selling this rifle. This rifle has several upgrades that make it a really sweet rifle. The first upgrade is a premium recoil pad, a stainless magazine follower that replaces the plastic one, and a XS Sight scope rail & sights combo. The XS Sight rail was a $150 upgrade, the recoil pad was about $50, and the stainless follower was around $25. This rifle has had about 110 rounds through it, and likely less than that. It does show some signs of wear for being transported to and from the range, but all things considered this is a sweet rifle that is more than ready to go anywhere and do anything.

I’m asking $540 face to face for the rifle with upgrades.


I am located in Fort Wayne, IN. I’m not going to be able to drive to deliver the rifle and I’d prefer a local pickup. If you’d like to go through an FFL to get the paper work done we can do that for an extra $25 (their fee) about 15 minutes from where I live.

I bought this rifle brand new back in 2003. I have taken it on two hunting trips, but the rest of it’s life it has been used at the rifle range and cleaned after every trip to the range. It does show some signs of wear, but this rifle has never had any real hard use. This rifle comes with a Nikon prostaff 3-9x scope on top. This scope is mounted using quick release rings, so you can just pop the scope off and go to iron sights if you want or need to. This rifle also has a stainless follower in the magazine tube. The stainless follower replaces the cheap plastic one and helps in the feeding. The scope was $150 when I bought it. It’s a handy rifle, but I just don’t use it much. My loss is your gain.
