INGO members screwing other INGO members: RANT

One thing I like about the INGO website is that many people here will help out other members with "fair" prices on trades.

Now is a time of irrational panic and some gun parts, particularly standard capacity magazines, AR lowers and similar components have been jacked up in price by panic buying. The supply is well behind the demand. But the manufacturers have NOT yet raised prices.

What really pisses me off are the SMALL % of members here who have parts to sell and are screwing other members with 'gouging' level prices like Pmags and AK mags in the $25+ range, etc. I think it sucks. If you want to screw people, go to Gunbroker.com and push your overpriced crap.

I've not paid more than $15.25 (including shipping) for 30 round AR15 Pmags. I've not paid more than $16.60 (including shipping) for AK 30 round mags. And I've bought BOTH types BEFORE & AFTER the election and the prices have not changed. So why are INGO members screwing other INGO members and offering overpriced parts here? It reminds me of those gas stations that jacked up their gas prices $2 per gallon when we invaded Iraq. Only a small % of them did it, but it was wrong. Offering parts to other INGO members at extortion level prices is just as wrong.

For whatever it is worth, if anyone wants Pmags for roughly $15.25 each (including shipping), go to Charles Daly website. They get deliveries of Pmags every week. They were in stock yesterday. If they are out of stock they will put you on a list and ship when they get them. There is a wonderful young woman in the office named Lindsey who will help you out.

MidwayUSA has AK mags, they were in stock earlier this week, $16 each.

STOP THE PANIC, just get on a list and wait. In most cases your wait will not be long.

Not to thread jack, but I can't find the mags on any of the Charles Daly sites I've been to. You have a link?

Oh and I agree with what your saying. We are a community of gun owners. We should be helping each other out. not screwing each other over. Nobody minds if someone makes some money on a deal, but out right gouging is plain wrong.

You have to call the Charles Daly office. Talk to Lindsey. Best time to reach her is usually right after lunch.

Charles Daly also has a forum. You could join the forum and send her a PM asking to buy Pmags. Send the PM to Lindsey, her member name is: CD Docs

But there are other places that will also allow you to get on their waiting list and offer similar prices. Bravo Company was taking back orders.

Exactly my point. If I needed a part and needed it now, I'd pay you a fair premium to get it and I don't mind you making a fair profit. But a fair premium is different that getting screwed for $10 to $15 on a magazine or $75 on an AR lower.

Agreed it does take two.

I have a new DPMS stripped lower that I would part with for $500 today. If I were to post this and someone is dumb enough to buy it you have no right to blame me for their stupidity. This is the same mentality that blames the banks for our present financial situation. It takes 2 and of that 2 only 1 is to blame.

Refusal of such dealings on the part of the buyer is the ONLY answer.

I think it may be deeper than just people gouging in INGO. getting money is one thing but for me this forum is a little more personal and tight knit than most, so how are we supposed to have mutual assistance groups and other community and forum related functions when we feel like we are being duped by fellow members on such an intimate forum just because they feel like they can make a buck off of us?

Keep in mind, it takes 2 to make a deal. Firearms and related items aren't like gasoline in that they are not a must have item. As an example, I was aproached a couple weeks back by an individual that had been told I had some lowers. I told the guy I had nothing for sale and even told him I had $85 ea. in the lowers. Through the conversation I told him I also had a Jewell trigger I had bought for $100. When he offered me almost twice what I had invested there was no reason for me to say no. He now owns the 3 items by his own choosing and there is no reason for me to feel bad. If you are dumb enough to pay the inflated price you're actually the cause of the problem so don't try to transfer the blame to the seller.

I think we need to start giving "Negative Rep Points" to the price gouging members.

Honestly it pisses me off. I offered a 'fair' trade to another member who wanted to unload some AK mags and wanted parts that I have. I used 'fair' pricing of his stuff and 'fair' pricing for mine. He wanted mine at 'fair' prices but wanted his valued at 'gouging' prices. Yeah, sure. Sorry, but I'm not playing that game. He literally wanted more than an $12 premium per piece for his stuff on a multiple unit trade. Seriously WTF? He needs to sell that to an idiot and I'm not an idiot. I bought similar stuff at fair prices earlier this week.

I agree that INGO members should not gouge our own.
