Adult hunter shot while hunting with a 12 y.o.

He was shot by another adult in a separate group but the article says that only those under 18 were allowed to have guns. What gives?

I am not a hunter but one of these days I will get to it. so I really am not up on the rules.

    The must have been horrible.

So true DRob. That is why I only hunt with people who know what they are doing with guns. A few years back a neighbor convinced me to take him bird hunting with us. We pull up to our spot. We start to get our gear out. This guy slides his shotgun out of the case. Starts loading the gun, then proceeds to rack the shotgun. All while he is still in the back cargo area of my Jeep. I stopped him asked him for the gun, made sure the safety was on, then took him off to the side to explain that's not how we roll. Needless to say he never went hunting with us again.

So if it was youths hunting only and he was shot by another adult what kind of charges could the other adult face?

Too little info to go on. Did the dad load the gun and it went off as he was giving it to his son, or did the son have a question and it went off as he handed it to his dad?

Did the son shoot and the dad covered up when the authorities got there???

Either way, it makes no difference at all. This should not have happened and whoever was responsible, regardless of intent, should be punished to some degree.

    Just sad...
