What if, HYPOTHETICALLY speaking, a guy had a little thing from when he was 10 years old? It could POTENTIALLY be stamped on the handle part "PENGUN" and stamped on the barrel part "TEARGAS JAN.1966", and it could look exactly like this random picture taken off the 'net

This mythical delinquent somehow inexplicably had never gotten around to converting it to fire projectiles, even as easy as that would be.

Since it would be so easy to convert into a zipgun, would this be a specially regulated weapon? or is it just an antique? And BEFORE anybody went to the trouble to modify such a nonexistent hypothetical piece of hardware, is it worth anything as an antique? and legal to transfer as such?

You would have to Form-1 to convert it to an AOW (as it would be a pen-gun) which is $200. Is it worth that to you?

I believe a 02/07 licensed person could manufacture it for you and register it, then it would be a $5 tax stamp. I think the only issue is manufacturing an AOW shotgun from a shotgun that has previously had a stock attached.

Actually, the non-existent exercise in what-ifs is considering throwing it in the trash before SOMEBODY gets jammed up. If it was valuable, that could be a consideration.
