His first suggestion is registration, albeit he disguises it as a qualification on your drivers license. :ugh:
Before you tell me how I am violating your rights by proposing a record of gun owners, note that the constitution does not say that you have the right to bear arms and not tell anyone. We regulate chemicals, elevators, airplanes, and financial transactions—and none of those are specifically designed to kill anyone.
and none of those are a constitutional right either.

Yea. He wants anyone who wants to OWN a firearm to have 40 hours of training, and 80 hours for anyone that wants to concealed carry. And that training will apparently be paid for by an ammo tax:n00b:

Another case of "I'm all for the right to bear arms, buuut"

A Navy Vet?s Case for Gun Control - The Daily Beast

These are the kind of people that really scare me. And I think they can do more to damage our rights than even MDA or Everytown, because these are actually gun owners and shooters calling for gun control. And the ever-present "it's for the children" BS.

Some people are so hopelessly lost in the quagmire of fear that they forget they're turtles that can poke their heads out for air, have shells to prevent them from being harmed, and legs to carry them to safety. Is his six year old son more important than the liberty of every American? Is he more important than all of the people who died so he could have that liberty himself? That same narrow mindset is the one that will ultimately be this country's undoing.

You should read some of the comments. Pure Gold.

This is another appeal to authority. Who knows why he was a firearms instructor. You don't always have a choice what you do in the military.

Maybe a required class in High School for everyone. Reading Writing Arithmetic and Shooting. Everyone learns gun safety, how to shoot. That is what MDA wants, safety? Wouldn't that put their panties in a twist. Common Sense, the new Common Core.

The Supreme Court of the United States has held that registration for the First Amendment is unconstitutional. Why should we believe that registration for the Second Amendment is permissible?

Maybe if schools required study of the Constitution, DoI, Bill of Rights, state constitutions, etc. then calls for firearms training, licensing and whatnot would no longer be referred to as common sense.

"This training should be done by the government to ensure consistency and quality control and should be covered by the tax on ammunition."
