Was out and about stopped in at a pawn shop slash gun store. Their prices were off the hook $899.00 for the Ruger 9mm 1911, $800.00 for a Sig 238.

Seemed like they marked everything up a minimum of $50.00.

Profit is not a dirty word but my gosh how do they expect to sell anything at prices like that.

Seems to me prices should not have soared with election going the way it did.

Is this something new from them? Are they always high?

Could be they just count on folks not shopping around...that, or they will negotiate?

When I visit a shop like this, I mark them off my list of places to shop.

I don't even try to negotiate better pricing. If they do reduce prices, it is what the going rate is and they expect you to think they are giving you a deal.

I saw a price tag of $300 on an 8lb jug of powder.
I briefly questioned it, but the excuse I received didn't offer enough for me to pay attention to it.

Jerking of knees! Happens here, and elsewhere, on a regular basis. Ya' know Newsweek magazine actually distributed an edition with "Madame President" and Hillary on the cover. Friend of mine got a copy before they were pulled. You can get yours on eBay. No reason to think it couldn't happen at your favorite LGS,

meanwhile, I've gotten 3 adds over the past two days from Cabela's wanting to sell me ammo really cheap. I'll bet they stocked up hoping to at least capitalize on the Hillary election victory inevitable run on ammo. So now they want to unload the inventory after Trump's victory.

I can honestly say I have never been in a gun shop I liked or have done business with. Once in awhile I will stop in one and leave laughing.

Do agree. There's one here that I went to once in while and was amazed at the bull flying through the air. Then last time I was looking for some FP-10 and they were just rude when I did not like what they were offering.

    ok here's my story

a month ago, the print shop I work at received a call wanting us to print a newspaper insert, they were going to send up 2 sets of art, one if killary won, and one if mr trump won, (the paper is not in my area, a few hours away) we were to print the day after the election, and ship, to arrive on Friday for the soonest possible insert date

the day before the election, they sent one set and said go ahead and print it, we scheduled it to print on Wednesday, had the pressman come early to get started on it,, at 8 am my boss comes running in saying "stop the presses" (yes I know cliché) that they were sending new art!

ill let you guess as to why!
