Rheinmetall Joins with Steyr with RS556 Rifle

Steyr (Austria) and Rheinmetall (Germany) have joined together to build a rifle to replace the G36. No photos yet (the photos at link are for the Steyr STM556) but it is announced that it will be "like/resemble" the AUG but also be like the M4. (In my tiny lizard mind, I see a more modular M4 like maybe the Masada, but that's just my guess).

Hopefully it doesn't use proprietary mags. It looks cool, I wonder how long it will take to hit US shores.
