This is the reason why I carry a cheaper pistol. If you ever need to use your gun in a self defense they're taking your gun for at least awhile. What's easier to replace a thousand dollar plus 1911 or a $500 glock, M&p etc

I feel a little different! The odds of me having to use my EDC in self defense is very low. If I do have to use it, I want to have available one of the best firearms I own when my or another persons life is at stake. I can certainly replace any firearm I own, but don't have any spare lives. I carried a Colt Double Eagle SS 45 for many years, now carrying a Kimber Solo.
