Yep you would be that guy. Public parks and monuments belong to us the citizens of this country not to the government. Most of the monuments were paid for with and are maintained by donations to and from the citizens and charitable foundations.

Can I point out that it is THEIR memorial? Or would that make ME "that guy"?

Good stuff, guys! Since all public property belongs to "the people" it must necessarily follow that any individual has unlimited rights to any specific piece of public property at any time. Which of you will be the first to go have a seat in the Speaker's chair while the House is in session? Anyone feel like climbing fence at Groom Lake? If that's too much hassle, we pay for police cars with our taxes, so surely we are entitled to take one for a spin whenever we like, no?

    more just following orders.

Yes, these cops are EXACTLY like the Nazis. A truly insightful point, INGO member Trigger Time.

I own a copy and have read it. What is your point?
The point, is that a sizable quantity of people are more than just a little concerned with the quality of many individuals that are currently serving and protecting the law.

The "under cover" officer that participated in the motor cycle incident in New York, to the Atlantic City beat down and dog mauling perpetrated by a group of individuals wearing badges, clearly exhibits that individuals under the color of law are capable of being monsters.
Elected officials and police officers choose to take a great responsibility into their hands, which is to serve and protect the law. Unfortunately with this responsibility often comes a sense of power. Add some contempt and a touch of bitterness, the stresses of a mortgage and daily life, and the potential for atrocities increases.
But, that's what they volunteered for.

People still expect Andy Taylor, but what they are seeing more and more of is the faceless Warrior Cop.

Im glad that you own the book, and understand that the front line of atrocities committed against citizens is often the local constables.
Many people choose not to articulate their understanding and the National Socialist Party under Adolf Hitler is the best example of what they are feeling, but more than that, it is what they are seeing.
