I don't agree completely with that statement, but I don't think the idea of unions are bad. Like anything else they are corruptible, and in responsible hands they function like they are meant to.

So Detroit is down the tubes because the unions are corrupt? I thought it was because the politicians received union dues as campaign donations to get reelected so they could keep voting for union goodies. Wait! That's corrupt. Hmmmmmm.

it is the day the government handout recipients honor those that labored to fund those benefits, similar to Christmas, but secular like.

Next national holiday to go on the calendar will be Dependance Day. It will be celebrated on Aug 4th to honor all those shlubs dependent on gobment handouts.
