The governor of Connecticut is requesting an increase of the current fee for a pistol permit be raised from $70 to $300. He stated the increase would help offset the burden the state is facing from its citizens owning firearms although a more detailed explanation was not provided.

Question: If a tax can be imposed on one of the Bill of Rights can other rights be taxed as well ? If the Second Amendment can be taxed can, say, a tax on the First Amendment be imposed as well ? When a right is taxed is it no longer a right ?

My cousin has lived there for decades. She teaches at what she calls "gangsta high". She told me that low lifes move to CT because they have the best welfare benefits.

Too bad they can't tax leadership corruption and malfeasance, they could collect a lot more money than they ever would from their gun owners.

Collecting money is a farce. discouraging gun ownership is the point.

True, but the taxes they would owe for collecting the kickbacks would be prohibitive.

Always follow the money. ;) :stickpoke:

    Beat me to it.
