Sounds like 10 bad ideas. It should ALL be gone.

    :yesway:

They are saying they won't because of political backlash. If they ran a campaign promising to repeal Obamacare, get elected on that campaign promise and then refuse to follow through, I would think THAT would cause political backlash. The R's need to grow some balls and do what the American people want.

ObamaCare wasn't written in a couple weeks when the democrats' put on the push for single payer insurance. It was sitting on a shelf somewhere just waiting to get implemented when/if the political planets aligned. Is there no counter-version sitting on the shelf of some conservative think tank somewhere? There has to be. Rand Paul says he has a plan. Just pick one and implement it. Or you may see backlash from your own voters.

The Democrats did one brilliant thing to prevent repeal: they ALLOWED INSURANCE COMPANIES TO HELP WRITE THE LEGISLATION. In doing so, they ensured anyone desiring repeal would have to swim against a tide of corporate opposition. That is the poison pill the Republicans will never be able to overcome.

The Democrats understand the Republican Party is nothing but a fund-raising organization run by Lobbyists. The Republican Party is no more capable of going against the will of Corporate Lobbyists, than the Democrats would be of telling Black Lives Matter to grow the hell up. It ain't going to happen.

It was never the poor people and the free sxxt they got from this Law that made it a "political third rail." It was _always_ going to be the Lobbyists who would fight successfully to save it.

The GOPe likely feels it can fail to deliver on this and only a madman would burn down the house rather than accept this bitter truth

And likely there is one thing they are forgetting about Trump

    I endorse the Freeman Plan:

    1. Repeal the ACA and salt the earth so that nothing can grow in its place.

    2. Allow insurance to be sold across state lines. and health insurance to be above the line tax deduction.

    3. Do nothing else.

    Kirks plan is good.

Its a messy situation. Gov interference is going to be painful to remove. Probably best to rip off the bandaid fast.

    3. Taxation is theft.

There is NO authority provided by the U.S. Constitution for government to own, direct, provide, or mandate healthcare, period.

This guy gets it ^^^ ;). (Welcome to INGO - your future is bright here :yesway:).

Soon, groups like Heritage Foundation (if they haven't already) are going to start floating a bunch of "conservative fixes" for Obamacare. And you mark my words: those "moderate Republicans," the ones who hated Trump, the ones who said they would support Hillary, the ones who complained the Republicans have no "plan" for fixing healthcare? They are going to step out of the woodwork, and start loudly supporting these so-called "Conservative Fixes." They are going to tell you that "this is what Conservatives do - propose mature solutions."

Washington DC is a basketball game, the Democrats are the Harlem Globetrotters - and the Republicans are the Washington Generals. WIN OR LOSE, THEY STILL GET PAID. The sincerest desire of the Republicans is to keep on wearing the uniform, and getting paid.

Even though they didn't cast a single vote to pass it - the Republicans are going to end up owning the results of Obamacare. Obama gets credit for the accomplishment; Republicans own the consequences for implementation and outcomes. The Globetrotters win again.

and yet we still have that as well. :faint:

Were we, in mass, to let our elected employees know that in no uncertain terms we won`t accept this intrusion by government, they would stand down. Good luck though, getting those who feed at the government trough to denounce their lotto payouts...

I still think the best plan would be the most simple:

"As of Jan 1st, 2020 (or any other year) the Affordable Care Act is repealed." BOOM! Done.

This would give health care providers, insurers, and customers time to adjust but get rid of the massive burden on the system.

    Regards,

    Doug

Trump has been saying for a long time he wanted to replace it, not repeal it. Now, I dont' recall if he started saying that before or after Nov 7th...but I know he supports immediately putting something in its place.

There is truth to what someone said 'when Obamacare passes, it will never be repealed, only tweaked and it will grow for the rest of our lives'...or something like that.

The US is on its way to Single Payer healthcare. Obama will be credited with starting our move toward it.

They need to take a proposed plan and put it up for a vote. When none of the Dems will vote for it a second or third time, then just repeal Obamacare outright.

Forget about a gov't replacement that we don't need and can't afford. The 26 year old child thing was always asinine. A detriment to our society, teaching adults that they don't have to be accountable for their own health until then.

Preexisting illnesses need to go into medicare for 10 years until we can figure a better way, hopefully the free market does it for us.
