Ah, the good old days.

When freedom hadn't been eviscerated from the country.

When toy machine guns were made by Mattel.

When gun culture wasn't looked at with such scorn.

When the country wasn't drugged out on psychotropic drugs and going on unprovoked shooting rampages.

Nowadays this toy would have cost $55 and the store selling them would have been raided by Federal ATF Gestapo agents.

I'm a little old to have had any of those but I fondly remember the day my mail-order Mossberg 151M arrived USPS. I opened the box in record time while Clark, our mail carrier, and my younger brother, watched. Once opened, I loaded it and me and Clark took turns shooting at marks on a fence post along the barn lot. Clark stayed there for a good 10 minutes shooting with me and then went on to finish his route.

It's a day that isn't coming back. It exists only in the memories of those who lived it. Once we're all gone, it'll be gone with us. We never know how good we have it until we don't have it anymore.
